The Bow River Flow

Bow River Flow

The Bow River Flow is Calgary's newest festival, started in 2009. The 2010 Bow River Flow will take place on Sunday, August 22, 2010. It will be a free participatory festival of active lifestyles and human-powered transportation with a heavy dose of music and art. Calgary's inner city has become a thrilling place to live and work. The Bow River Flow celebrates Calgary's Bow River green belt in Calgary that overflows the pathways into a lane reduction on Memorial Drive.

The Bow River Flow is Calgary’s answer to similar events that have blossomed in cities across the country – Ottawa, Ontario, Montreal, Quebec, and Vancouver, BC. New York has has permanently closed some streets on Manhattan for pedestrian activities and Paris has created beach volleyball courts on its river boulevard.

The 2010 event will feature six “TuneStations” which pairs live music performances with bicycle tuneups and fitness activities. Calgarians will participate in fitness activities while enjoying live musical performances at each TuneStation.
